🇬🇧 The Fondation CNRS is officially recognized as a Public-Interest Foundation

By decree of 20 June 2026, the Prime Minister, following the opinion of the Council of State and upon the proposal of the Ministry of the Interior, officially recognized the public-interest nature of our foundation and authorized its transformation into a public-interest foundation.

This decision strengthens the Foundation’s capacity for action and marks a major milestone in the development of our organization, established in 2020 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of CNRS. The Foundation supports and advances fundamental research projects that are exploratory, high-risk, or address major societal challenges requiring rapid support, while also fostering the attraction and development of new talent.
